Jim Rishel


Jim Rishel, the former Chief Counsel, Assistant Ohio Attorney General, founded Rinehart, Rishel & Cuckler, Ltd. in 1982 with four other Ohio assistant attorney generals. Mr. Rishel's practice has been focused on insurance liquidation, government relations, and real estate law. He has been invoked in a number of significant cases, including, Fabe v. U.S. Treasury, 508 U.S. 491 (1993), in which he won a US Supreme Court decision finding in favor of the Ohio Liquidator regarding claims of policyholders. Mr. Rishel has served as special counsel to five Ohio Attorney Generals, the Judiciary Committee Chairman for the Columbus Bar Association, and the Policy Development Committee to Ohio Attorney General Lee Fisher.
